Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence

Trinity Moline and Trinity Bettendorf have each been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). They are the only hospital-based imaging centers in the Quad-Cities to have been recognized with this accreditation.
By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
According to the ACR, receiving the accreditation means that:

the hospitals have voluntarily gone through a rigorous review process to be sure they meet nationally accepted standards.

the personnel are well-qualified, through education and certification, to perform and interpret medical images and administer radiation therapy treatments.

the equipment is appropriate for the test or treatment patients receive.

the facility meets or exceeds quality assurance and safety guidelines.
The breast imaging services at Trinity Moline and Trinity Bettendorf are fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging treatment by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
