Professional Nursing Practice
In December of 2008, Trinity achieved Magnet™ recognition status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the world’s largest and most prestigious nurse credentialing organization and a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association (ANA).
The recognition includes all three of Trinity’s Quad-Cities campuses: Rock Island and Moline in Illinois and Bettendorf in Iowa. Less than 5% of the country’s hospitals have been recognized as a Magnet™ organization, a distinction bestowed upon hospitals whose people, processes and culture combine to set the highest standards for the profession of nursing.
“Achieving recognition as the world’s first bi-state hospital is such a privilege earned through a daily commitment to excellence and teamwork by our nurses, administrators and support staff,” says Trinity President and CEO Rick Seidler. “This pinnacle award affirms Trinity’s commitment to providing the best outcomes for every patient, every time.”
The formal Magnet™ Recognition Program provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that they can expect to receive. When U.S. News & World Report publishes its annual showcase of “America’s Best Hospitals,” being a nurse Magnet facility contributes to the total score for quality of inpatient care.
